(Quit your job. Buy a big knife. Do something!)

Oh my god. This sentiment. I think it. Every time I hear anyone complain about their life.

there’s this one kid here that constantly complains about how “hard” the homework and everything we’re supposed to do at an art school is. every time i hear this i think “drop out drop out drop out drop out” until it stops

Yeah.
I didn’t like my mom’s abusive husband so I moved in with my dad. I didn’t like being an intern when I first moved to NYC so I quit and they hired me back full time. I didn’t like living in LA with my ex so we broke up and I moved back to NYC. I didn’t like not having a degree so I went back to school.
The catalyst to positive change in your life is always going to be inconvenient, if it wasn’t inconvenient then that opportunity wouldn’t be sitting there, it would have been something that you just did without thinking. Improving your life is always at the cost of inconvenience.
I complain about a lot of things but I never complain about the actual circumstances of my life. I mean not in earnest. Anything in my life that is difficult is usually difficult because I made it that way in order to improve my situation.

This is a very easy conversation to have among people with enough money to feed themselves and no one they love depending on them. If your mother is sick, or you share custody of a child, or you need to feed your children and make sure they have a good life because all you want is for them to have a better life than you did…then it is very very easy to be trapped by circumstance.
Don’t go around judging everyone who’s trapped in an unfortunate circumstance because you have been lucky enough to extract yourself from a couple.

^Interesting points^
